Kitchen Scraps: it’s out of my hands

After two years, it’s done.

All the files, images and pages are done and Kitchen Scraps is going to press. It won’t be back until October but when it does arrive, there will be 5000 copies to find homes for.

After being so intricately absorbed inside Kitchen Scraps: A humourous illustrated cookbook I can proudly say there is nothing I would change about it. It’s unapologetically funny, the recipes are disarmingly delicious and the illustrations are not something you see in a cookbook everyday.

From the conceptualising, through the recipe testing, drawing and laying out the book, there is nothing more satisfying than finishing your first book.

Of course, it’s also pretty satisfying to get great reviews from fantastic and generous people like…

Michael Ruhlman

Bob Blumer

Dorothy Hamilton

Ben Schott

You’ll have to pick up a copy in October to see what they said… how’s that for high pressure sales-tactics?

A big thanks to everyone. You’ll find the full acknowledgment in the book, but for the sake of brevity I’d just like to say to Mom, Dad and Candace: sorry, thanks.
